Bulgaria’s rhythmic gymnastics team has won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, after a stunning performance in the group all-around final on Sunday. The team, consisting of Simona Dyankova, Stefaniya Kiryakova, Madlen Radukanova, Laura Traets, and Erika Zafirova, delivered two flawless routines to secure the top spot on the podium.

The Bulgarian team’s victory marks the country’s first Olympic gold in rhythmic gymnastics since 2004. They finished with a total score of 92.100, ahead of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) team, who took silver with a score of 90.700. Italy claimed the bronze medal with a score of 87.700.

The ROC team was led by Dina Averina, who won the individual all-around gold medal on Friday. However, the team made a number of mistakes in their routine, which cost them the gold medal. Italy’s team, led by Milena Baldassarri, performed a clean routine to secure the bronze medal.
